The Tummy Tuck typically consists of an incision from hip to hip, then an incision is made in order to access the abdominal wall, where the abdominal wall is repaired. It is important to note that if the surgeon determines that an abdominal wall preparation is not necessary, it will not be done. However, this does not affect the overall result of the surgery. Complementary to the Tummy Tuck is included Liposuction to the lateral waist. WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF TUMMY TUCK INCISIONS?

MINI TUMMY TUCK

The Mini Tummy Tuck is usually used on patients who have a minimal, yet noticeable amount of excess skin. It is a very short incision below the navel or butty button and typically results in a shorter recovery time. This leaves patients with a minimal amount of excess skin with tighter skin with the benefit of a smaller incision. For patients with an average but not a substantial amount of excess skin, the Full Tummy Tuck is performed.

FULL TUMMY TUCK

The Full Tummy Tuck is usually used on patients who have an average amount of excess skin. It is the most common incision during a Tummy Tuck. The incision is made from hip to hip along what is most commonly known as the "Bikini Line" in order to hide the incision as best as possible. This leaves patients with an average of excess skin with a tighter look, tone, and more youthful appearance to their abdomen and sides. For patients with a very substantial amount of excess skin, an Extended Tummy Tuck.

EXTENDED TUMMY TUCK

The Extended Tummy Tuck is usually used on patients who have a substantial amount of excess skin. The incision is made like the Full Tummy Tuck, however, it extends a small amount past the hips. This procedure is ideal for patients who have had serious weight loss surgery. The result is a satisfying amount of excess skin removed, a tighter feel, and a more youthful appearance.
